NYX Cream Contour and Highlight Palette | 01 Light

I've recently bought this palette from my local Sephora store. It's slightly below RM100 (can't remember the exact amount). I've never had a proper cream contour palette and frankly speaking I'm not a big fan of cream products due to my oily skin. But I've decided to give it a try cause at the end of the day, it's just makeup and it's gonna wash off.

Let's jump into the review!

The packaging is made up of plastic with a transparent top. It's great since one can take a direct look at the product inside, unfortunately it means sacrifice to the mirror. It's a shame because it would be a nice big mirror. It looks like a typical NYX packaging; simplicity with a touch of sophistication.

Judging by the pan size, there's a generous amount of product. From left; cool tone contour, shimmery pinkish highlight and a yellow shade for under eyes highlight.

There is no noticeable scent and I love how big the pan size because it's easy for my brush to pick up the cream product evenly.

All products are a tad stiff yet they're still creamy to the touch. I need to swirl my finger on the product and heat up the cream for it to melt off. Once it does, I was able to pick up a lot.

The contour shade glide on smoothly and not a single patchiness visible. It's cool tone contour which looks like real shadow once blended.

However the other two swatch slightly uneven but they are so pigmented. The tone of the products are also appropiate as of the shade "Light"

Bear in mind that the highlight shade has a chunk of glitter that sometimes migrate to the other part of my face. Not cute.

The banana shade is the most problematic of them all. I've tried using it under my eyes. It was impossible to blend! Even with a damp beauty sponge. In the end I have to use my finger (dabbing motion) and when I did, it took off almost all of my concealer. I did NOT like the banana shade.

I've set the cream contour with a powder contour by Makeup Revolution.

With the powder contour, it stays on for 5-6 hours without any fading. I'm impressed!

Overall, I'm in love hate relationship with this product but I'm willing to give it a few more tries before I decide whether to continue using it or to give it up.

February 2016 Favorites (Maybelline,Innisfree,NYX,etc)

Hello earthlings!

My February favs are all about rediscovering old items that REALLY performs well. I haven't bought anything new for this year because I'm currently saving some cash. So I use whatever I have which let's be honest, I have way more than a normal person should have haha.

Etude House Face Conditioning Cream (Original Version)

I've ran out of my regular sunscreen so I've been using this one as a substitute since it has SPF25/PA+++. Its quite low but better than nothing! Normally I also use it alone whenever I'm not in the mood to wear makeup. It does not really do anything other than UV protection, in fact I don't understand the purpose of this cream. I'm guessing its a makeup base. A little reminder, this is unsuitable for oily skin because of its heavy and thick texture which also makes it a bit sticky/shiny on the skin.

Etude House Beauty Shot Face Blur

Trust me, 'face blur' is just a fancy term for PRIMER. Its texture is thin and lightweight, kind of like a liquified silicone. I thought this was a gimmick product but I was amazed when I tried it. I'm loving the fact that this do blur my pores and my makeup stays on longer. Plus the scent reminds me of baby lotion, it brings back nostalgic feelings. This has easily become my favorite primer of all time.

Maybelline Fit Me! Matte and Poreless Foundation

I reach for this when I want a foolproof good skin day. This can never go wrong. It does not feel heavy, it does cover my pores without primer and its finish is not too matte yet not too glossy for my liking. Its not tacky and it blends like a dream with the brush or damp sponge. This is a legit wonderful foundation for daily usage. If you have oily skin, you need this in your life!

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

This is also my all time favorite item! It brighten up my undereyes immensely. Its a bit thick and I prefer blending it with a damp sponge. Its also a little drying if I were to compare it with the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer. It really lasts once its set. It does not budge and crease. The price point is what makes it sooooo worth it. Its so affordable and yet it works like magic.

Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Pact

You can tell by its packaging that I use it a lot LOL. Its convenient to travel with due to its small size. Its perfect to set the face, undereyes and it also act as a mattifying powder because its finely milled texture. It feels so soft on the skin! The downside is that it can give white cast if used excessively so always keep that in mind.

 Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara

I got this when I bought the Tarte Christmas Holiday Collection. There's nothing special with this mascara but I keep on reaching for it. Its wet formula makes it heavy and it cannot hold my curls. But I love the volume it gives and it does not smudge on my oily lids. I would not repurchase this once it dried up. Personally, I'm still on the quest to find my ultimate favorite mascara.

NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder

Of all eyebrow product, I love the powder formula the most because its easy to blend and dark enough for my black eyebrows. Sometimes pencil or twistable eyebrow pencil slip and slide on my brows probably due to the fact that I'm oily all over my face -____- Needless to say, the NYX eyebrow cake powder is affordable while doing wonders to my eyebrows. If I accidentally over applied (in which I always do), I can easily blend it with a spooly. I always have an option to go with a natural or fleeky brows with this product and that's just make me love it even more.

NYX Tinted Eyebrow Gel

I use this when I want my brows to look extra polished. I find that this gel is rather chunky and once deposited, its quite difficult to blend it. The trick is to use a LIGHT HAND with it. Its basically brushing lightly on the brow hairs without putting any pressure on the handle. It takes a bit practice but once I've mastered it, I thoroughly enjoy using it.

Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm

I wore this a ton and its still going strong! I have a weird pale lips and I look sick whenever I don't wear makeup so I always put on a tinted lip balm just to bring the life back into my expression. Its quite thick and sticky but I'm used to it that I keep on using it. Its also the only lip balm I own at the moment. It does moisturize my lips and this really helps because I tend to breath using my mouth unconsciously so my lips are prone to dryness.

Wearing my Feb favs ;)

So that's it guys. I really hope you find my post helpful and I'll see you next time!

Take care! XOXO

NYX Tinted Brow Mascara Review

Hello readers!

I bought this during my recent visit to Sephora. I don't fancy the brow on fleek trend on Youtube as I prefer the straight brow popularized by K-pop idols. Plus I never take brows seriously despite the 'your brows can frame your face' claim. But now I think its time to polish my brow game. So I decided to buy this little guy.

✿ NYX Dark Circle Concealer 01 Fair Review ✿

Hello cupcakes!

I picked up this baby during my last food hunting trip to Penang. It was sold at Sephora Queensbay Mall for 30 MYR if im not mistaken.I tried using the tester on my very own dark circles (ain't got time to wear makeup when you're traveling) and i was surprised on how well it matches my skintone. So i bought this and i've been using it ever since!

This is different than the Concealer In A Jar.That concealer is more to covering blemishes and redness on the skin. While this one is exclusive for the under eye area since it contained coconut oil, china clay and orange pigment.

♥ Fall 2014 Wishlist ♥

Hello everyone!

This is going be a little different than my usual posts.Being a full time student,i cannot help but to live within a specific budget.I could not simply spend my cash so i developed this wishlist to keep track on what i wanted in hope that one day i'll be able to purchase them :')

Maybelline Dream Wonder Fluid Touch Foundation (RM49)
This is said to be the dupe for the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation.I've heard so many positive review on this product. Its light weight,it blends into the skin beautifully and has a natural finish.Sadly its not available in Malaysia so i have to purchase it online.

Etude House Precious Mineral Blooming Fit BB Cream (RM54)
This is another light weight  and less dewy version from the Precious Mineral line.I tried this at the back of my hand and im very pleased with the coverage and i like the fact that it has this fresh scent that is not too chemical-ish

NYX Eyebrow Gel (RM32)
Ok i simply want this because of its resemblance to the infamous MUFE eyebrow gel with a much much lower price tag.Of course the performance is slightly different but i figure this is a good item for me to start practice using a liquified eyebrow product.

Benefit Posietint (RM115)
I was blown away by its color payoff. The bubblegum pink is just the prettiest pink i've ever encountered in my whole life. Its also drink-food proof *tried the tint at the shop then went eating* but its price is just soooo ridiculous >.<

Typo 2015 Planner (RM39/59)
I went to Typo yesterday and i saw a section full with fancy 2015 planner.I was immediately hooked by the design, especially its cover page but when i look at the price tag... T__T i put the planner back to the rack.I am a planner person,i have to list everything in between otherwise i will get lost and no jobs would be done by the end of the day.

LA Girl Pro Conceal Concealer (RM30)
Another product raved by Youtube gurus. This is a high coverage concealer which blend effortlessly and does not get cakey. It is also very affordable and im just dying to try this concealer!

So that's it!
Most of the price stated is online price as they're not readily available in Malaysia.
Thanks for reading!

XOXO.

NYX Products Review (Soft Matte Lip Cream,Jumbo Eye Pencil,Mono Eyeshadow)

hello cupcakes!

I started to develop an interest with western cosmetics recently because i think they're worth trying. So,i managed to visit Sephora and bought two of NYX's best selling product which are the soft matte lip cream and the jumbo eye pencil.

I was actually aiming for the shade of Addis Ababa instead of Amsterdam but it was out of stock so i grabbed the other one, which was my alternative shade. Also I was looking for the shade Milk but it was out of stock too :( Another product i wanted to try from NYX is the concealer in jar BUT it was also out of stock *sigh*

The mono eyeshadow I got for free by swapping with a fellow friend so basically its free. :)
