Colourpop Brow Colour | Black n Brown

Hello earthlings!

”colourpop

I have recently bought the Colourpop brow pomade from Carousell. I've been looking for a cheaper alternative of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pomade. Luckily Colourpop released their own brows ranges not long ago at an affordable price.

This particular release sends a big hype and buzz around the beauty community since their previous launches are all hit, from the eye shadows to the ultra satin lips. The brows department is also one of the trickiest among all because it's difficult to please everyone with the formulation plus the "brow queen" title is still held by ABH.

This is my first time experimenting with  brow pomade so I honesty don't know what to expect. However, comparing it with my other brow products experience, my main expectations are for it to be long lasting and dark enough for my brows.

Colour - Black N Brown

Weight - 3.0 g / 0.11 oz

When I was watching unboxing videos of the brow colours, I noticed that some of them complaint about the lid being tightly sealed and they struggles to unscrew it. Mine is not the case, it's tight but easily unscrewed.

The product looks creamy to touch and it has no scent whatsoever. I believe the packaging of it is similar to any of the brow pomades out there.

On a first glance, the colour looks like a warm dark chocolate. It transfers a lot darker on the skin and I am quite happy about it. At least it didn't look too contrasting with my black brows.

Freshly applied.
I was also testing the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer.

After 4-5 hours

For this brow colour, a little goes a long way. I dipped the brush 3 times into the product and it is more than enough to cover my entire brow (one brow). I blend out the excess product using a spooly brush and it evens out effortlessly. It also give me an enough time to adjust the pigment distribution before it dries to a matte finish.

It's so creamy that a slight dip is enough to pick up a lot of product. It can be a good and bad thing depending on how you like your brows are. I have worn this for a full 12 hours and by the end of the day, it looks just the same as I first applied it. It didn't move or fade away even when I didn't set it with any powder. :O It can be removed easily with an oil based makeup remover.

Overall, I am digging it! It performs well and the price tag is affordable. I would definitely try the brow pencil soon. :)

Take care! XOXO

Colourpop Ultra Satin Lips | Echo Park

Hi y'all!

This is a long overdued review on the Colourpop Ultra Satin Lips. I've had it for quite some time and it has been one of my go-to lip colour.

I purchased this for RM45 including postage.

The packaging is identical to the Ultra Matte Lips (UML). In my experience, the wording on the tube fades off easily. I hate it when that happens so I always ensure to avoid holding those particular area.

I would describe it as a muted pink with a hint of mauve.

The product is highly pigmented and glides smoothly on the skin. The doe foot applicator helps a ton in term of precision especially at the corner of my mouth.

It doesn't taste funny and lasts a long time even after eating and drinking but it transfers like a lipstick. However most of it remain intact on the lips. It also didn't crumble up like my UML "Limbo"

It stays pleasantly on the lips without drying out my lips and it's not as sticky as the UML. The finish has a bit of a sheen to it.

Overall, I like USL more than the UML but that does not mean I'm converting to USL. I still love UML since I love matte lipstick. I would definitely buy more shades from the USL especially "Tansy" and "Frick n Frack".

The Ultra Satin Lips by Colourpop is definitely worth trying!

Take care! XOXO

March 2016 Haul ; Morphe, Colourpop, Yubiso, etc

Hi earthlings!

I've bought a few things worth mentioning last month. They're mostly makeups with a few miscellaneous items. I have also found a new Daiso type of a shop called Yubiso Japan at Sunway Pyramid. Seriously that shop is dope! Everything is color coordinated and it triggers the OCD side of me hahaha. And their price is also affordable while carrying a variety of stuffs from cosmetics, selfie sticks to home care products.

I bought a pore brush and 3 dual ended markers. The pore brush was sold at RM10 while the markers are RM5 for 3. Such a steal right? So far the pore brush is doing an excellent job at cleansing my skin. The bristles are dense yet soft on the skin and produce a lot of foams. Its quite hard to reach the corner of my nose but considering its performance, I don't think its a concern at all.

The markers also works wonderfully. Its vivid and scentless. They have a big stash only for these markers and what's amazing is that each pen has a shade name. The markers I bought are 84 Pastel Violet, 101 Yellow Ochre and 22 French Vermillion.

Next is the Carousell haul. I have a Carousell account [HERE] where I sell my preloved cosmetics. Do check it if you're looking for cheap, aunthentic preloved makeup :) Carousell is an app where you can sell and buy preloved or new items such as cosmetics, furnitures and even books. It's the only shopping app I use.

Back to the haul.

I finally own a Morphe eyeshadow palette yayyyyyy. Everyone loves the 35O palette but I personally want the 35N instead. I love matte eyeshadows hence why I buy this. Most sellers are selling it for a staggering RM145-170. Luckily I found one that sells for only RM110 due to minor defects. I haven't try it yet though. It looks so pretty that I don't want to ruin it with brush or finger marks LOL.

Next is the Colourpop Ultra Matte Lips that I reviewed HERE. This is a preloved item but it does come with a box which is a plus because its a good prop for review.

Last one is the E.L.F Matte Magic Mist and Set. This is also a preloved item and I bought this for RM18. This is my first face mist since I can't afford the Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray. Anyhow I tried it once and true to most reviews, the mist comes out in large droplets that is prone to wet the face. I sprayed it from an almost arm's length and it still wet my face :O

These are from Daiso. I wanted to buy the sponge because its cheap and comes in a bulk. I figure it can be used to bake my undereyes or to apply foundation with. The wooden pinch is to clip the pictures on a string. But I still haven't print out the pictures yet.

Last item is a journal from Typo. I've been wanting to write a journal since I have so many free time this semester. Pinterest is the major trigger for this purchase. I see so many awesome and artsy pictures of people scribbling and writing down on their journals. There's also tons of prompts and ideas for you to ponder and jot down in the journal. Thanks Pinterest :) This retails for RM17.50

That's it folks. I hope you enjoy my mini haul and I'll see you in the next blog post!

Take care! XOXO

Karreuche x Colourpop Ultra Matte Lips Review

Hi earthlings!

I just received this in my mail today and I am beyond excited that I'm doing an immediate review hehe. This is the Karrueche x Colourpop collab which is called Kaepop. The shade I own is Chi. I bought this for RM30.

I've been wanting to try Colourpop cosmetics for some time but I can never decide which shade to buy because there's so many to choose from! Even now they're expanding their products to brow pomade and brow pencil. O___O Finally I've jumped into the bandwagon when someone was selling this cheaply on Carousell.

The tube gives out an expensive vibe with the silver lid and rose gold accent. It is transparent and its made up of plastic. The design and presentation is simplistic with just enough attraction for the eyes to look at.

The liquid lipstick has a doe foot applicator and it pick up quite a lot of product which is convenient because I don't have to continuously dip back into the tube.

The website describes it as "cool tone nude beige".

I was anxious whether it will appear too pale and greyish for my skintone. I googled the swatch and some of it look super pale :O Thankfully it did match my skintone pretty well, at least in my opinion.

Upon trying it, I noticed its liquidy and thin texture. It doesn't feel heavy and it feels almost nothing on the lips. I heard complaints that the Ultra Matte Lips is too drying but I think they twisted the formula for this particular collaboration. The product glide smoothly on my lips and it emphasize all the lines on the lips. A lip primer will minimize the appearance of lip lines. Plus it does not have any noticeable scent. The LA Girls Pigment Gloss has strong paint scent.

It dries down matte and transfer minimally once it dried. I have not test it for a full day yet so I cannot comment on the longevity and effect of meals and drinks in between. But so far I'm liking it!

Take care! XOXO
